First Sketch in England
Stopped for a late lunch/early dinner at the Fox and Hounds in Lyndhurst. Great atmosphere and a good burger and glass of cider! This sketch still needs a bit of touch up before it's complete.

Artist Journal ~ March entries
I took my watercolor sketchbook journal along to Costa Rica. I've written a little bit about my trip on my regular blog, so I won't add more here, but will let the pages tell the story in their own way.

Returning to the annual projects...
I'm back, though most likely sporadically over the next month while some very big changes take place in my life.
This past weekend, the very warm weather brought out the apple blossoms. The air has been heady with their scent! It's got to be one of my most favorite springtime smells.
On Monday, the weather turned cool and windy and the ground was covered with petals like snow.
Today, we had real snow.
I was surprised to see that the lilacs were already trying to bloom ~ over a month early! Hoping they don't get frozen by the snow and cold temps that are expected tonight. But we are glad to have the moisture here in Colorado where it has been exceptionally dry this late winter/early spring.

Cell phone vs land line.
Cell phone is great when used within country. But... can't make international calls unless previously set up with a pricey international calling plan!
The land line brings internet capability and the ability to make international calls on a whim!
One or the other and sometimes both at the same time have been constantly in use for me today ~ I made 20+ international calls in the past 24 hours as my Mom is ill and in the hospital in Costa Rica at the moment! She is doing ok, thankfully and getting good care, but will be delayed in getting home.
For today's round, the winner is the land line.

Using up paper scraps in my Calendar Journal.
No photo yesterday ~ I was busy minimizing my scrapbooking supplies and didn't stop to take a photo!

Junco ~ it must still be winter as the Juncos are still here. Though they are a bit twitter-pated, which means spring must be on its way! They've been chasing each other in circles around this tree, stopping only for a brief rest and then a moment to feed before taking up the twitter-pated chase again!

2/18/2012 ~ Watercolor A Week
Watercolor sketch of the view from my windows. No snow on this mid-February day.
Another watercolor sketch ~ this one of the fading tulips from last week. I'd love to take a class in botanical illustration as my skills at painting flowers could use some improvement!

Since losing weight, I have the hardest time staying warm. This afternoon I'm cuddled up with a couple of cozy afghans and reading material! It's lovely to be reading about beautiful gardens. The one on the front of this month's English Garden magazine is so much like the sketches I've done of my dream garden that it's like seeing it come to life!

2/17/2012 ~ Photo A Day
My constant companion!
At last ~ an afternoon with no work, no classes, no meetings, no appointment, and nothing I need to study for. Lovely to have a little time to knit! Making a new pair of wrist warmers in natural colored wool.
